Yet in this alienation, began the science
of astrophysics ---- old books kept
and written by angels, astronomers.
This is beyond my areas of expertise.
I come with a coat, pen and notepad,
infrared cameras and men in uniform.
I doubt in my ability to offer solutions.
My recordings are the setting of a trap.
I am the inspector of endings, misery.
By my own reckoning all is not lost here.
But we can do so little to save their lives.
Today we arrest their sensibilities,
invade their tunnels, confiscate
their backpacks, spray paints, silence
the steel capped boots - take them in.
Yet they would resist any last comforts from us.
The truth is that the sun had risen and they shone by its golden edges.
