GENIE [2]: THE CAT MAN
I Was Confronted With The Terrifying Fact That Mackenzie Knight Was Not Fully Human.
While studying my photos of Mackenzie again, I noticed that there were several shots in which he appeared to be attempting to materialise into his human form. I was on the phone talking with Trevor about his novel and my animals one night, with the tomb photos that I had taken at Greyfriars up on my computer screen, when I suddenly focused in on the photo that Mackenzie wanted me to see. It was a shot where he had utilised his black shadow form, into the body of a man, so that it then connected to the head of what appeared to be a very large cat, that had been somehow imprinted onto the wall of the tomb. I exclaimed, "Oh my God! He has a cat's head." Oh my God, what am I going to do? Trevor remained oblivious and completely self absorbed in talking about his novel, meanwhile my mind now raced elsewhere, as the phone receiver was gently lowered from my ear, while I took in the full affect of what I had just discovered. I was literally terrified that I was dealing with something that was completely out of my sphere of knowledge and experience, and that he may very well be more powerful than me. It was a very human response.

The Tomb Wall - Questions
My thoughts were racing in regards to Mackenzie being a part cat. Why did he have a cat's head? Did he think he was a cat? Was he really an other worldly being? Was he a spirit presenting as a cat, because he liked their traits? Who made him like this and how did he get like it? Sympathy overrode the fear. I didn't understand why he hated me. I was more afraid of the fact, that I had no idea what I was dealing with and I knew that no one could help me. After years of flirting with the paranormal, I had finally been confronted with something that I felt unable to deal with. Mackenzie had been biting, scratching and assaulting people in Greyfriars Kirkyard for a number of years. Now, it appeared that he had followed me back to Australia. So was he the one who had shaken the ground, when I had first stepped off the train in Edinburgh?
Was it he who set me up to go on the tour? Or did someone else, perhaps the bigger larger one underground, perhaps his master, decide to feed me to the lion? I only knew this. His eye was upon me before the tour. It was upon the day I walked into that cemetery. I did not know how any of this was going to end. Was he doing things in the tomb to baulk the tourists? Was he smarter then them? Why was he hanging out inside a tomb? Was he once physical or always a spirit? Why inside a cemetery? Why did beings like this exist on earth? Why? I didn't understand why? It felt like the island of Doctor Moreau. Why this hatred coming from him? Why this suffering?
I began to settle myself down to think about the photo and why Mackenzie had done this. I believe it was for several reasons: 1. He was confirming to me that he was indeed the large cat, who had been stalking me for the past weeks. 2. He was showing himself how he really was - a genie. 3. He was showing himself how he thought himself to be, that being half beast, half man, a freak like The Elephant Man who had been treated like less than an animal, taunted and laughed by tourists. Therefore he had utilised his energy and given them what they expected of him. 4. He liked cats and wanted to shapeshift into one, to show that he stalked prey, in this case, birds and myself. Yet to look at the photo, it looked more poised than threatening, as if he was quietly posing for a number of my photographs. The only thing I could do was document this, but with a sense of respect and compassion. I told him telepathically, you are loved. You are not a freak. In my mind, I apologised for any pain that he might have been caused and asked him to be in God's love.
Ye To Eye - You To Me
The One Eyed Cat's Head In Mackenzie's Tomb, Corresponded To The One Eyed Cat's Head, That I Had Photographed On A Book Cover, Along The Royal Mile, After Leaving The Kirkyard.
Once I got a grasp on this, I was then able to compare the head of the one-eyed cat, etched onto the tomb wall at Greyfriars Kirkyard, to the bookcover that had been on display behind a glass shop window, along The Royal Mile in Edinburgh, whereupon I noted a similarity between the two images, in that the single eye was similar. I remembered back to the number of cat related incidents, that had occured from Fergal sensing a large cat stalking me in The Arthur Findlay College grounds, to a large cat purring in my ear in the Newton Hotel in Glasgow, to the cat motif on the white van and at The Eshcol Guesthouse in Breasclete, on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. It was all connected. He had been stalking me for some time. In fact, he had stalked me right across Scotland, before following me back to Australia.
Furthermore, it had been reported that Mackenzie mesmerised and killed birds in Greyfriars Kirkyard and that he had scratched (usually leaving 3-5 claw marks) and cut hundreds of people, who went into the cemetery with Black Hart Tours. This behaviour was well documented in a book written by Scottish author Jan Hendersen titled; The Ghost That Haunted Itself: The Story Of The Mackenzie Poltergiest.
In the state of mind I was in, I was still able to function enough, in order to remain conscious and to try and understand what was going on. This took all of my energy and so, with much agony and misery, I had to let go of my animals, my mother and everything I ever known or knew or any idea of a future. At the time, I thought that this was permanent and fell into a state of despair, particularly over the feeling that I was abandoning my animals, not realising that the situation was momentary, such was the intensity of my fear. I left a message on my mother's answering machine saying that I had 'stuffed up big time' and that I was going to die as a result of it.
[Update 2011: In early 2011, I came across a video on the internet, by a UK based paranormal group called EMPIRA, that was filmed inside Mackenzie's tomb during 2006, which was three years before I had shown up there. Towards the end of the video, as the people were leaving, Mackenzie Knight could be clearly heard making noises like a large cat. The description on the video read, "E.V.P AT 6 mins 9 secs approx starts with what sounds like a cat miawing followed by a moan or growl."]
